This year, my husband and I decided to go back to making things simpler at Christmas. In fact, we didn’t even buy a full sized tree, but a Norfolk Island Pine that is in a pot so we can care for it year round. We looked high and low for some vintage looking stockings to add to the old-fashioned charm as well and we are scaling back gifts and excess this year, too.
I have always loved vintage looking Christmas images that depict a much more family focused time and a certain rustic charm. While our tree is not big or strong enough to support ornaments, I love the idea of making vintage ones such as the ones in this list of DIY Old-Fashioned Christmas Decorations.
Please note that some of the DIY Old Fashioned Christmas Decorations listed here come from sites that are not translated to English, but they have detailed instructions in images enough that it would be easy to just follow them along to make them.
