I have to admit, Montana is breathtaking. I have lived here all my life and I find that often times, there is a huge lack of appreciation of the splendor of it on my part.
Now, I have never lived in a big city, but I used to dream of getting out of this place and seeing the world and living in big cities with lots to do and tons of people to get to know. I think that was all a little fantasy I carried around in my head. My thought was that I was somehow missing out on something.
Really, there is plenty to do here. I live in a City called Missoula. Yes, that is the same place that the 1991 film with Brad Pitt takes place. While Missoula is not a small town like it was in the early part of the 20th century, it still has a small town feel to it. Missoula is a college town, but the people here will say “Hi” to each other on the street, something my husband, who is from all over the US was amazed by.
No longer do I dream of big cities. Instead I find myself wanting to move to a smaller town. I want to take in the beauty Montana has to offer instead of get far away from it.
By the way, you can’t visit here, because we are at capacity, but I hear North Dakota is nice
