There are some gifts that are timeless and in my opinion, pearls are one of those gifts. They can be heirlooms and are perfect for many occasions from casual to weddings.

I had never owned a set of genuine freshwater pearls until I was sent an absolutely stunning set from Pearl Paradise, the leading freshwater pearl website online. Cons:

The strand could have been a little longer in length. I got the 18 inch strand, but I wish there was a longer length.

Most Wearable Spring Fashion for Busy Moms 2013

I have always loved fashion trends, even if they have always been my own. Lately, I have been loving the trend of leggings, tunics and sweaters, given the weather here, but as Spring approaches, it is time to freshen up what I have been wearing and give it a new look.

Dressing when you are a mom who is pressed for time and needs clothes that work with the demands of being a mom can be a challenge.I have picked my favorite and most wearable trends from the UK and US to stick to this Spring to add a burst of newness to your spring wardrobe!*

One top trend all over the runways is blazers. When scouring the internet for the best deals, I have come to find that some of my favorite blazers are from New Look. They have the most up to date styles at very awesome prices. I am really in love with the lighter pastel colors! They can really make an outfit shine if you don’t over-do them. A blazer is a perfect way to add that pop of color. That is certinally refreshing! Plus, don’t forget the hot trend of blazers in all white!

On top of blazers, some new trends that are popping up everywhere are animal prints. I have always loved animal prints and I am so happy to see these coming back. My favorite way to wear them is with a manicure or even a cute clutch. I think with animal prints, it is best to stick with small accessories as to not look like, you, yourself belong in the zoo!

Additionally, one of my favorite trends is monochrome plaid patterns. I have a gray and black black men’s button-down that I have been wearing and I am loving the way it looks paired with just about anything from leggings to jeans and I am sure it would go great with the right pair of shorts!

I personally love the trend in pumps this season. Low heel and wedges are in and my feet are very thankful! I admit, I am one of the strange women who never really learned how to walk in heels properly, so I avoid really tall ones to begin with so it makes me very happy to know my low heeled pumps will be in style this season! Pumps are a perfect way to also bring in the other trends like pastels and animal prints in subtle ways to any outfit as well.

With the warmer weather approaching, it is time to also think about ditching those long pants. The latest and most trendy look for this spring is Bermuda shorts. I love this look so much! It is not only practical for moms, but modest and feminine as well! Bermuda Style shorts also go wonderfully with a blazer and heels. Take a day look to a night look instantly!

Jax Hats {Review + Giveaway}

If you have been following my blog for any amount of time, you know that I fully support crafters and small business. I just love how items that are handmade just feel so wonderful to have and use.

Jax Hats are no exception. I first stumbled across Jax Hats a year or so ago at my local Saturday Market. I loved the style of them and the fact that they were not only handmade and local, but upcycled as well. Jax Hats are made from Upcycled sweaters and they are just wonderful!

Lately, my “color” has been lots of greys and browns. Jackie, who hand crafts Jax Hats made me a wonderful hat in grey and black. I have worn it many days in the still cold weather here in western Montana and not only does it keep my head warm, but it is so darn cute. I get compliments on it everywhere I go! I love that the band on the hat is made from t-shirts. It does an excellent job of keeping the hat comfortably in place!

Jax Hats also has a new line of infant and toddler gear as well. These hats make me wish I had a little one again because they just look absolutely darling on both little boys and girls.

The button that you see on the side of the hats are all hand-crafted as well. This hat is just so cute and fashionable, I am worried the warm weather may be coming too soon and I will have to retire my new favorite fashion accessory!

Pros:

These hats are hand made, high quality and they fit well. I love that they are made with upcycled materials and that the buttons on the sides are also home-crafted. You cannot find a better hat for anyone! These look great on women, children, teens, infants and even men!

Cons:

They can be a bit pricier than some people can afford compared to retail prices, but for quality this good, it is more than worth it in my opinion, because after all, these are not mass produced and you are supporting a great independent craft business.

Verdict:

Everyone needs a hat like this! I highly recommend these hats!

Delectables by Brynne Jewelry {Review}

I have a love affair with necklaces. My only problem is I am allergic to most metals besides the more expensive ones, so it can get a bit tricky to find necklaces that don’t case me to turn green (on my skin, of course!).

One of my other loves is Etsy. I love to craft myself, but I admit that I am certinally no expert and I cannot make jewelry to save my life. I went through a period of time when I was in high school where I attempted, but the pieces never turned out that great so I decided that was not my forte.

Lucky me, Brynne at Delectables by Brynne has the talent I am lacking. She makes beautiful pieces of art you can wear from semi-precious stones and high quality metals. She made me an absolutely gorgeous necklace that I have not been able to take off since.

Since this is an Etsy store, and each piece in unique, unfortunately, you can’t buy the one I have, but she has an absolutely amazing assortment of others that are a complete delight. In addition to necklaces, she creates earrings and bracelets. All her pieces are hand wrapped and made with high quality materials so you will be able to enjoy them for a long time.

Pros:

Whats is there not to love about a unique piece that is just yours? I love her selection and for high quality semi-precious stones and metals (she uses gold filled or sterling silver in most of her pieces) her prices are amazing, especially for handcrafted pieces.

Cons:

I just wish I could get more!

Verdict:

This is exactly what every woman would love. I personally really love to support crafters who put love into their products over factory manufactured items.

Cleava and Snappy Cami {Review}

As some of you may know, I was pretty “chesty” before my reduction surgery. I still have pretty decent sized boobs in the eyes of a lot of people. I got a fitting the other day and I am sitting at a 38 D/DD depending on the bra. I am also a pretty modest person, so I don’t like to show too much of “the girls”.

I was asked to review a product that many people have probably heard of. It is called the Cleava and the Snappy Cami.

These are basically something you snap onto your bra to cover your cleavage and to give you a layered look without having to actually wear layers. They are very simple to attach and I noticed they stayed in place for the most part. They are also adjustable depending on how high you want coverage for the particular top you are wearing.

The Cleava I reviewed was a solid color. I got a pink one and a white one.

Snappy Cami came in 3 colors for me to choose from in both solid and lace: Grey, Brown and Navy.

I also layered the white Cleava under the grey Snappy Cami to show how they can look together.

The Pros:

Cleava and Snappy Cami Both cover well and you wouldn’t be able to tell it was just a piece attached to a bra and not an entire tank. I liked how it gave me versatility to add style to my outfits and make any shirt more modest. I did not find them to be bulky and they were easy to switch out and put on.

The Cons:

I found that they sometimes moved out of place and I had to readjust the Snappy Cami. The Cleava has snaps that snap around the middle of your bra to hold it in place, but it also bunched up sometimes because of this.

The Verdict:

I like both the Snappy Cami and the Cleava. I would recommend them to you if you are wanting to have a more modest look to your tops.

Hair Chalk- Fun, temporary hair fashion!

My 9 year old daughter is such a fun little lady. She loves to be creative and she jumped at the chance to try HairChalk.

HairChalk is fun, temporary hair fashion for people of all ages. It is easy to apply and remove.

I was a bit nervous about whether it would show up on my daughter’s brunette hair, but it works great to add a bit of flair!

She recently got her hair cut short and this was just the ticket to jazz up her cute new style. Here she is before:

HairChalk is easy to apply. First, you wet the hair till it is damp in just the place where you want the color. This is best done with Hairspray.

Second, rub the HairChalk into the hair until the desired color is reached.

Last, Let the hair dry! I also found that to get an even color, if you use a fine tooth comb in the hair, it helps.

To remove, just shampoo out!

Look at the fun color it ads to hair!

My daughter loved the splash of color HairChalk added to her hair!

OASAP “Long Elegant Shiny Key Necklace” review

I was excited to be given the opportunity to share a new fashion website with my readers called OASAP. The site features “street fashion” and makes it more affordable for more people. I do have to say that I saw a lot of things on the site that I liked, but opted for a necklace because I am trying to build up my jewelry collection.

I got the “Long Elegant Shiny Key Necklace“.

I loved how all day long both days I have wore this necklace I got compliments! People told me they had never seen anything like it! It was so shiny as well. I was told it really made me stand out.

I liked the double chain and length of it. I prefer longer necklaces rather than shorter because I find them more comfortable.

The shipping is quick with OASAP. I got my item in just a few days.

A couple things I didn’t like about this item was the necklace chain was broken off the clasp when I received it. It was an easy fix, but I expected better packaging and care as well as quality for an item that cost $20.00.

I also felt it was not as quality-made as it appeared on the website.

Overall, the customer service and shipping was very good with OASAP, but I felt the item could have been better quality. It seemed like it was a bit overpriced.
