Rebound Drug-Free Pain Relief Device {Review + Giveaway}

I was sent a Rebound TENS Device for the sole purpose of doing a review. I was not compensated monetarily for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

With diabetes and fibromyalgia, I know a bit about chronic pain. I have diabetic neuropathy in my hands, arms, legs and feet. The pain is the kind that can be really debilitating and it comes on out of nowhere, leaving me not only interrupted in my work and play, but left reeling.

Unfortunately for me, I am allergic to NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs like Ibuprofen). This presents a problem because these medications are better for solving the pain of inflammation that an analgesic would be. I am also one of those people that hate to take prescription medications. I don’t like the idea that they are addictive and I don’t like the way they make me feel.

This leaves me with very few options for pain relief. Of course, I use heat packs, warm showers and soaks in the tub, but that is not always convenient and honestly, is only effective up to a certain point.

The Rebound TENS Device

I was really excited to hear that there was another way. It is the Rebound TENS Device. The Rebound TENS Device is a non-prescription pain relief device that uses electro-therapy to help alleviate pain. “TENS” stands for Trans-cutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator. The way it works is with a tingling sensation that the device emits via a small electric pulse to alleviate pain symptoms.

The Rebound TENS device is great because it can be worn for as short as 10-15 minutes at a time or all day. It allows you to not have to reach for pain medication and is available with out a prescription.

While the Rebound TENS device will not cure your chronic pain issue, it is a big step in controlling the symptoms of it.

My personal experience with the Rebound TENS device was amazing! I first used it for pain I was experiencing in my knee. This was due to over-use of it on a particular day that aggravated my nueropathy and made my knee feel like it was buckling. I applied the Rebound TENS Device as illustrated in the manual that comes with it. To be completely honest, I was a skeptic and as soon as I started to find relief almost right away, I swear by this device now.

Since then, I have used it for pain in my hips, wrists and even menstrual pain in my lower back. It has worked for all three locations like a charm. The sensation is kind of strange at first, but you find it soothing and it really is amazing how well it helps alleviate pain of all kinds-sharp, dull, stabbing, you name it. There is a couple places you cannot use the device due to it being electrical impulses. You cannot use it anywhere on the Face, Neck, Head, Groin or anywhere across the chest. If you are hoping this will help with pain there, it unfortunately cannot be used in those areas.

The Rebound TENS device retails for $64.99. Refill pads are $19.99. This is well worth the investment. I was spending at least $20 a month on analgesic over the counter pain relief medication and at least another $20 a month on creams, rubs and heat packs. That doesn’t even count the cost of Rx medications I sometimes used. Not only is this cheaper than all of that, it can be used as long as I want, it is small and can be carried with me on the go and it can be used over and over. Make sure to follow Rebound on Social media: Facebook and Twitter.

Just because Cinco De Mayo was yesterday, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy delicious Latin style foods all month, heck, all year long!

I made a delicious quesadilla yesterday for my family to enjoy on the holiday. I want to share this with my readers and tell you about the wonderful products Goya has to help you make healthy and hearty Latin-infused meals!

To make Chicken Avocado Quesadillas, you will need:

  • Goya Organic Low Sodium Black Beans (1 can)
  • Goya Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 small tomatoes
  • 2 Ripe Avocados
  • 2 Boneless, Skinless, Chicken Breasts, cooked and shredded
  • Large Flour Tortillas
  • 1 small tub of Low Fat Sour Cream
  • 1 Can Enchilada Sauce
  • Hot sauce
  • Chilli Powder
  • Cheese Slices

100_3920

1. Start by peeling and slicing avocados. One trick to this is to cut the avocado all the way around length-wise. Then twist, gently.

100_3921

When you have the fruit in halves, take a chef’s knife and stick it into the pit. Gently pull the pit out and slide it the knife off. Please be careful in this step!

20 Mule Team Borax {Review and Giveaway}

Until recently, I had always wondered about Borax. I had seen it in the stores, humbly nestled in with the laundry supplies, but had no idea what it was used for. Then I found out you could make your own AMAZING laundry soap with it!

Borax

One of the reasons I was so hesitant to try it was I used to be so stuck in my ways. I was not willing to try anything that may deviate from them and I was afraid I would buy something that I had no use for.

If you don’t know what Borax is, it is a naturally occurring mineral from the earth. It happens when evaporation of seasonal lakes occurs. Borax is just another name for sodium tetraborate. If you are worried that 20 Mule Team Borax has extras in it, you needn’t. It has absolutely no added chemicals chlorine or phosphates added. Its as pure as what you would find on the ground. All they do is wash it, dry it and box it up!

Not only can you use 20 Mule Team Borax for making laundry soap, you can also just use it as a laundry booster for removing stains. It works by softening hard water and allowing deposits on your clothing to lift and keeps them from re-depositing on your clothing.

In addition to laundry, you can also use Borax to:

  • Deodorize your garbage can. Just sprinkle some in the bottom!
  • Soak Cloth diapers in a solution of warm water and 1 cup 20 Mule Team Borax
  • Cat litter deodorizer. Sprinkle some in with your cat’s litter
  • Clean rust stains with a paste of lemon juice and borax
  • Keeps fleas and pests away. Sprinkle of carpet and vacuum
  • Clean the toilet with it. Add 1/4 cup to the water and let sit for 30 minutes. Scrub it clean!
  • Help baked on food come off easier with this soak: add two tablespoons to the water and it will come off easier after a bit of soak time.

I highly suggest you check out my Laundry Soap recipe and make some for yourself. You will be amazed at not only have clean it gets your clothing, but also how much money you will save! Check out the Store locator on where to buy 20 Mule Team Borax! It shouldn’t be too hard to find since it is sold in pretty much every store in my area.

Making Babies Book and DVD set

There are some times I find myself loving a whole bunch of books by one publisher. One of those is No Greater Joy**.

I have read several books that Mike and Debi Pearl have put out, mostly, by Debi.

Mike and Debi have several grown children and one of them is Shoshanna.

Shoshanna Easling owns her own herb store online called The Bulk Herb Store (Also where you can find herbs and growing tools as well as this book and DVD series!) and has been working with herbs since she was a child with her mother, Debi.

She created a wonderful book that I think a lot of women will find very useful in their child-bearing years called the “Making Babies” series.

The series is a book, “Making Babies” and a three part DVD series with the same name.

I watched the entire almost 7 hours of the DVDS and currently I am not even trying to conceive! I just loved it that much!

The book is wonderful. It is filled with healthy recipes, herbal remedies, gorgeous pictures, earth friendly tips and crunchy notes! It is full color with glossy photos. It is a beautiful book full of nearly 500 pages of nature inspired advice for anyone trying to conceive, already pregnant or just had a baby.

As I said, I am currently not trying to conceive, but even I loved all the recipes and herbal remedies. The book is so useful!

The DVD series is just wonderful. Shoshanna is funny, bubbly and friendly. She takes you through your pregnancy from per-conception to birth to 6 months.

There is over 7 hours of footage on this DVD series!

The book sells for $35.00 and the DVD series is $75.00

The info inside both of these wonderful media products is priceless though! It has changed my opinion on healthy living, that’s for sure!

There are so many tips, tricks, hints and recipes. This is the PERFECT gift for the expectant couple in your life! This series is simply genius and even the most “resistant” person to the “Crunchy momma movement” will love it! God certainly blessed Shoshanna with wonderful talent in writing and creating herbal remedies.

Readers, I will be giving away a complete set worth $110.00 including the three part DVD series and the Hardcover book on June 29th right here on my blog! Make sure you come back and enter to win not only that, but a wonderful gift package for a new momma!

(**No Greater Joy is NOT the publisher of this particular book. The Bulk Herb Store LLC is)
