New from the makers of Bananagrams! {Holiday Gift Guide + Giveaway}

If you have ever played the popular game, Bananagrams, you know how much fun word games can be.

Now they bring you two new games. Pairs in Pears and Appletters.

My daughter, who is 9, had a blast playing the games with me. Pairs in Pears is somewhat like a popular app game on smartphones and Facebook. You create words and see who can do it the fastest with the random letters you get. I admit, even I found it a bit challenging.

Appletters is similar except you create word ‘worms’.

Both games are awesome because they teach spelling, reading and even the alphabet to young ones. You can tailor both games for easy to advanced play. This makes it an ideal family game for young and old alike. I love how this game can grow with your child as they become better readers and spellers!

I like how both came in their own fun pouches and take up very little space, unlike traditional board games. Appleletters comes in a red shaped apple pouch and Pairs in Pears comes in (you guessed it) a pear. To me, this makes it an idea game to slip in your luggage when doing some holiday traveling soon!

The games retail for $16.95 and come with instructions for the various ways to play the games.

Bananagrams Inc. has generously offered to give readers of Saved By Grace a chance to win both games! Just enter to win on the new PromoSimple form below! Game ends 12/5

When it comes to gift giving, we all want to give the gift that means something to the ones we love. With so many choices, its so hard to pick.

One way we can give gifts that have meaning is to give to those in need. With World Vision, which has been around since 1950, you can be sure that your gift keeps on giving to the most impoverished people on the planet. I am sure you have heard of Black Friday or Cyber Monday, but there is a new movement called “Giving Tuesday” where the idea is to give gifts that mean something to those who have less. This is more than just covering a day to day need-it is about setting the family up for success and giving them hope!

You can give a gift in the Maximum impact section of the gift catalog, in someone else’s honor,in exchange you also receive a gift to give them. The Maximum Impact money from gifts bought go to where the money is needed most.

Nicomate {Review}

I am ashamed to admit, but I am my husband are smokers. I wish I had never started. I am sure most smokers say that. I, like many smokers I am sure, started because of a combination of peer pressure and teenage curiosity.

The bad part about it is, other than the smell, (which oddly enough I can’t stand), I like to smoke. I like the social aspect of it, I like the feeling of it. These two things make it so hard to quit, even though I have many more reasons to stop.

I had long wanted to try an electronic cigarette to see if I could slowly quit using one. I have been smoking for over 15 years. That is a hard habit to just give up. I was unsure about trying one because [Read more...]

Brumby’s Yarns Handmade Cat Toys {Holiday Gift Guide + Giveaway}

I wish I knew how to crochet. My mother has tried to teach me on a couple occasions and it just doesn’t make sense to me. My mother, however, used to make me all sorts of stuff and she has recently picked it back up again. Since I don’t know how to crochet, and I can’t be asking my mom to make me everything my heart desires, I was so ecstatic to find Brumby’s Yarns, a handmade cat toys maker!

Brumby’s Yarns makes cute stuff for our four legged kitty friends, including collars, toys and mats.

I was given the opportunity to test out some catnip toys from Brumby’s Yarns. Let me tell you, my cat knew it was for him before I even opened the box. He was eagerly sniffing my mail that day and then started pawing at it. I had a feeling it was the handmade cat toys by the way he was acting. Inside, I found 3 very adorable toys! A ball, an acorn and my favorite-an oreo!

Each Brumby’s Yarn toy is lovingly handcrafted and contains organic catnip and Valerian root. My cat enjoyed his so much I had to “cut him off” after a while because he would get so wild he would start running around the house running into stuff like an idiot! I was afraid he would break something ;) Oh well, I am happy to let him play with them because he is usually a very lazy cat!

Brumby’s Yarns has a wide selection of handmade cat toys to choose from for gift giving this holiday season. You can’t forget your little furry friend’s stockings! My favorite was the cupcakes.

As you can see by the hair on it, I had to wrestle the oreo away from my wild beast in order to take a picture:

Brumby’s Yarns has generously offered to do a giveaway for a handmade cat toys prize pack! To enter, just do so on the Rafflecopter below! Starts 11/19 and ends 11/26

Denny’s was gracious enough to treat my family to a night of trying the new “Build Your Own” menu!

Kids and picky husbands love the chance to build their own meals! The “Build Your Own” menu offers the diner a chance to make their own milkshakes and burgers as well as choose sides. From the wacky toppings for burgers such as mac n cheese and eggs to crazy concoctions for milkshakes with bananas and bacon, you can really customize your meal! With Burgers starting at just $6.99, and milkshakes at $3.99, this is a great deal!

The “Build Your Own” dining experience is not only a custom experience, but fun as well with order pads at the tables that you fill in yourself. I took the liberty of filling in everyone’s orders as they dictated to me what they wanted.

My daughter could not wait to get [Read more...]

WondaWedge Inflatable Lounger {Review}

While our home is a bit small, it is cozy. One thing that has always been an issue though is enough room on the couch and enough chairs. With the WondaWedge that is no longer a problem! My daughter loves laying on the rug on the WondaWedge. She says it is completely comfortable and I even caught her napping on it once. ;)

Not only is the WondaWedge inflatable lounger a great way to make a floor more comfortable, I used to to sleep upright in bed. When I had my surgery, I was told to sleep [Read more...]
