As you know, I love beauty products. It is one of the main things I blog about on here, but since I am also a mix-mash of other things, I could never do a beauty blog only as I can barely keep up with this blog alone!

Joey NY is a line of beauty products that are made with premium ingredients and promise “Quick Results”. I was sent the Joey NY Polynesian Coconut Water Beauty Pads to test out.

The tub contains 60 pads, that you use nightly to have lightening effects and helps even out skin tone. You can apply a night cream on top of it.

These pads are not for cleansing the skin, per say, although the website says you can use them for that, but rather as a beauty treatment for after cleansing it. They contain coconut water and fruit acids. This is more of a serum on a pad similar to acne treatment pads, but to be used as a peel and to give your skin a great natural glow.

Pros:

I liked the calming smell they had. They felt nice and cooling on my face, and had a bit of what can only be decried as a “chilly tingle” when applied. It was kind of invigorating feeling. I used one to cleanse as well and it did a great job.

Cons:

I did not find any change in my skin by using them other than maybe a hint of brightness. I also noticed that the tingling that it gave me started to almost give a slight burning feeling as well. The burning feeling was not overly bothersome.

Verdict:

I am not sure I can recommend this as a product that evens skin tone, as it did not have that effect on me, however, it does feel luxurious and pampering and it does give my skin some brightness. These work well as a cleanser.

It may seem strange to list lip balm with my favorite things, but truly, I have an addiction, what can I say?

I was super excited to review for an 18 year old’s venture when he messaged me to review “Rodo’s Balm”. I had to say yes!

Patrick Rodo

Rodo’s Balm is a lip balm line that features natural flavors (that are fun and unique, I might add!) and simplistic packaging. Each balm has scribed on it “LLA” which stands for “Love Like Andres”, the entrepreneur, Patrick Rodo, behind Rodo’s Balm’s lost loved one and friend. I love that each balm promotes a positive living message.

I was sent all the flavors that are currently produced including, Vanilla Coffee, Unscented Matte, Bubblegum and Tropical Coconut. My favorite was by far the Bubblegum. In fact, I used it all up and realized I didn’t even get a picture of it.

Rodo’s Balms Flavors

Pros:

These are absolutely delectable! I love how they have a long lasting scent/flavor and shine. They made my lips noticeably softer after just a few uses. The flavors are so rich and tasty! I also love the positive message with each and Patrick Rodo, the owner, is absolutely a gem! I love his positive energy and go-getter spirit!

Cons:

I wish there were more flavors! I would definitely love a chocolate or even maybe a honey flavor!

Verdict:

These are the balms to buy for your chapped winter lips! It’s a simple purchase that will make an impact!

Aveeno, a leader in skin care has always been a favorite in this house. My daughter has suffered from eczema since she was an infant and Aveeno makes some wonderful products for treatment of it and products for everyone to use. I was sent an assortment of Aveeno products to try out on my tired winter skin.

Among the products I was sent, I was also sent an Eczema Care Kit. This kit contains an oatmeal bath and cream made especially for skin irritated by eczema. My daughter went quite a while without a breakout, but with the temps dipping low and the wind picking up, she soon had a minor breakout. She gets it on her knees, tummy and the insides of her wrists. For our family, it is super hereditary. My brother had it the whole time he and I were growing up and I felt so bad for him. His skin would get so dry, it would actually crack and bleed.

In the Kit, there were 5 oatmeal baths and the tube of cream. This is an amazing set up for anyone that suffers from eczema!

Pros:

I loved the creams. I have said before that I am more of a cream person than a lotion person, but I really loved the Aveeno Positively Nourishing Energizing Pomegranate Grapefruit Cream. The smell was crisp, clean and it truly did feel energizing. I found the creams to be non-greasy feeling and the moisturizing effects lasted a while. The Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing Lotion was great to keep by the sink after dish washing. My skin tends to be somewhat sensitive and this cream was great for that. (Don’t you just hate that feeling on your skin after you do the dishes?) I tried the Aveeno Eczema Skin Care kit on my daughter’s breakout and just as I suspected it worked fast and great. I used to use Aveeno on her tender skin as an infant and it was a lifesaver. I tried both the body washes and they seemed to lather well and clean well.

Cons:

I did notice that the Aveeno Active Naturals Daily Moisturizing cream was a bit greasy feeling. I also noticed both the body washes left a slight film feeling on my skin. However, they did both moisturize well.

Verdict:

Aveeno truly is a great all around skin care product. I have also been told there are certain products made by them that are Gluten free.

Aveeno is available at most retailers such as Walmart, Target and Walgreen’s nationwide. The prices are a bit higher than many products on the market, but are very, very reasonable.

Parnevu is a premium brand of hair care products for your troublesome hair issues. I tend to suffer from oily roots and dry, crispy ends. It creates a lot of fly-aways and frizziness. I was sent three different products to try, but in an effort to spotlight each, I will be doing three separate reviews once I have had a chance to dry them all out. The first product I tried was the Parnevu Hair Mayonnaise. This product promises treatment for weak, damaged hair. It contains olive oil, egg protein and herbs.

It is sold in a 16 oz tub size which I got about a dozen uses from with my long hair.

There are a couple ways you can use it. I used it in the shower as a deep conditioning treatment. I shampooed, towel dried and applied and covered with a cap. I rinsed out after 10-15 minutes. The product is very thick and stays well in hair for this type of treatment.

Pros:

I loved how this worked! Immediately, I noticed my hair was shiner, easier to manage and much more soft than usual. As I used it more, I also noticed that I was experiencing less hair breakage and less hair loss. I used to lose clumps of hair when brushing or showering. I barely loose a couple strands now. This was exactly what I needed to make my hair manageable and less likely to break.

Cons:

I was not fond of the smell. It has a very earthy and herbal smell to it and I did not really like that.

Verdict:

If you have dry, damaged hair like I did, I highly recommend this product. I was seriously amazed by how it took my hair from major hair loss and breakage to strong and healthy in just one jar of treatment.
