Guylian Chocolates

I was sent some chocolate in order to facilitate this review. All opinions expressed are my own.

It’s no secret that I love chocolate. I also love truffles. That’s where Guylian comes in!

Guylian chocolates come straight from Belgium and are absolutely a chocolate lovers delight. The whimsical seahorse and seashell shape they are sold in has been a part of their image for a very long time. You may be wondering why they are shaped that way. The founder decided he wanted to shape his chocolates this way because he wanted them to be an escape like one would take to a beach. Also, Guylian is the starter of “Project Seahorse” that helps with marine conservation. This is a company that cares!

When I first bit into a Guylian seahorse shaped truffle, it really was quite an experience. I had never tried them before now and was so excited to take that first creamy bite. The center is filled with hazelnut chocolate cream and is absolutely delicious and very decadent.

Guylian was named after the founder and his wife, Guy and Lian. The marbled effect comes from the fusion of white, dark and milk chocolates, swirled in one to create a beautiful truffle.

As a diabetic, you may think I am a bit weird for offering this as a review item, but Guylain does make some sugar free options such a No-Sugar Added Milk Chocolate bar and a 54% Dark Chocolate Bar. The truffles themselves only have about 4 g of carbs in each piece so you can indulge with not too much worry about over-doing it. These truffles are so rich and creamy, you may find just one is all you need to “get away”.

Guylian has generously offered to allow ONE of my readers to win a prize package that includes the following:

  • One – 22 piece marbled chocolate seashell truffles
  • One – 22 piece extra dark chocolate seashell truffles
  • Two - 6 piece marbled chocolate seashells truffles
  • Four - 2 piece marbled chocolate seahorse truffles
  • One - No Sugar Added Milk Chocolate Bar
  • One - No Sugar Added 54% Dark Chocolate Bar
