I’m not much for drinking adult beverages, but when I do, I like to be fancy about it. This means you usually won’t find me drinking a boring beer or simple mixed drink, but rather something festive and fun. That’s why I was so excited to get a new attachment for my Vitamix E310 Explorian Series Blender called the Vitamix Aer. It makes drinks over the holidays a breeze and I am excited to entertain with it on New Year’s eve this year!

The Vitamix Aer makes all kinds of entertaining easy. It really is the attachment to have if you are the life of the party because it will give you more time with your guests and less mess to clean up after. You can make whipped cream for pies, drinks and desserts with it as well! For holiday cooking, you can master emulsification and foaming. For drinks and cocktails, I am going to use it to muddle, like I did with this recipe for my Muddled Berry Fizz! The Vitamix Aer allows you to chill drinks without crushing the ice, too, so while you can add more ice cubes at the end if you want, your drinks will be chilled either way if you run out. No need to refrigerate your ingredients beforehand!

Muddled Berry Fizz

Ingredients for a Muddled Berry Fizz:

3 1/2 Shots Gin (I used Bombay Sapphire)
31/2 C Sprite or 7up
10 Ice Cubes
6 Fresh Blackberries
8 Fresh Raspberries
¼ C Fresh Cranberries
Extra berries for garnish

How to Make a Muddled Berry Fizz:

Start by placing your gin into the Vitamix Aer container. Add your ice cubes, berries and finally, your Sprite/7up.

Top the Vitamix Aer with the snap on lid.Start at the lowest setting and slowly increase your Vitamix to 7 over 15-20 seconds. On 7, allow it to mix for 5-10 more seconds. You don’t want to completely pulverize the berries.

Strain the drink through a sieve and pour into glasses. Top with fresh berries on a toothpick and add more ice to each glass if desired.

Note: You can make these stronger by increasing the gin amount to 4-5 shots, but the drink will not be as balanced. Whatever you do, please drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive this holiday season.

You can find the Vitamix Aer at store such as Target, Williams Sonoma and Amazon. To find Vitamix and Vitamix accessories locally, check out where to buy Vitamix.
