Finally getting a start on my Garden!

Published on May 9, 2024, by in Homelife.

So, another update on my garden. My husband dug up the garden the other day and even did the decorating. We planted several flowers from seed and hope to see them grow soon!

Now, some people might find it off-putting that I am also a “sorta” dumpster diver. By sorta I mean I don’t go trolling dumpsters on a daily basis, but if I see something next to a dumpster I find useful and in decent shape, I snag it. (That just gave me an awesome idea for another post!)

Anyway, I found this heavy pillar next to my neighbor’s dumpster. I live in a downtown area where several people use the same dumpster and no one (unfortunately) really talks to each other. So I feel no guilt snagging it. I am not sure what to do with it, but I want to incorporate it into my garden somehow. I just think it is so neat.

All that is left to do is dig out the other section for the vegetables to go. What a project that will be. Good thing I have a 9 year old eager to earn some money to help me :)

This is pretty much what the other garden looked like pre-digging.

As always, I will keep you informed as well make progress!

A.C.E.- the suppliment for weight loss with no jitters

I have tried products like this in the past and I was disappointed because I hated the jittery feeling of them. While they did work to suppress my appetite and give me more energy, the weird “icky” feeling I had inside was not worth it.

I was introduced to A.C.E. by Grace Avilez, who is wonderful to work with. She is right there to answer questions quickly and completely. She is also a supportive source to your journey to feel better and lose weight**! A.C.E. is an acronym that stands for Appetite Control and Energy.

With A.C.E., for the week that I tried it, I did not get the jitters. I did mistakenly take it too late one evening and I was up later than I would have liked, but, hey, it gave me time to work on my blog :)

I lost about 6 pounds this week and I didn’t change my diet and I continued with my normal routine of the Couch 2 5 K jogging program. I was pretty happy with this result! I had more energy to get my butt of the couch and get to my jogging!

A.C.E. contains natural ingredients to help you lose weight and feel more energy**.

* Vitamin B6

*Cocoa Powder

*Chromium

*Spirulina

*Green tea Extract

*Geranium Flower

*Natural source Caffeine

I love how the supplement is not these huge “horse pills” like I have seen in the past with similar products and I also like how it doesn’t require you to take a lot of them all day long. For me, it was simply 2 capsules in the mid morning and that was it!

I bet I would have lost even more weight had I cut out that “naughty” food I ate all week :o ) It did suppress my appetite, and I did not feel the need to snack as often, which for me is a huge issue I struggle with especially doing blogging. I just love to sit at the computer and snack.

For information on pricing, ingredients, testimonials and to place your
order, go to: www.grace.lovemyace.com

Also please follow her fanpage on facebook!

Grace was very generous and decided to give TWO of my readers a chance to try A.C.E. with a 5 day pack! Trust me, this is long enough to know if it will work for you!

To get a chance to win the 5 day pack, enter on the Rafflecopter form below. If you can’t see it, try clicking on “read more”

This giveaway is only open to US residents only, 18+ please.

One Hit From Home Movie Review and Giveaway

I like Christian movies. I like that they have a positive message and there is nothing I will find objectionable in them so I can show them to my daughter without worry.

I was given the opportunity to watch and review a new Christian movie entitled,”One Hit from Home”.

The movie is about a ex-professional baseball player who has to return home after a career ending knee injury. He has to confront his own demons with being in his hometown and coach a failing local baseball team. The plus side to this type of movie is I was also able to get my husband to watch it because it involved a sports theme. He usually prefers much more objectionable type movies.

At first, he makes it very clear that he is not happy to be playing the role of coach, but as God works on his heart, he discovers it ignites a passion in him for the sport again and not only gives him a new life, but a renewed sense of hope and healing and a role in a young player on the team’s life.

I don’t want to give too much away about the story, because I really do think it is a valuable one.

I do have to say that one of my pet peeves with Christian films is the acting is not usually as realistic or good as in Hollywood films. Unfortunately, this film is in the same boat, but if you can get past the sub-par cheesiness of the acting, you will find a great Christian message.

The soundtrack was excellent to this movie, in my opinion.

One Hit From Home was released in 2012 and is available on DVD.

I was given a second copy of the film on DVD to give to one of my lucky readers! To enter, please use the Rafflecopter form below!

My tulips are Finally in full bloom!

Published on May 8, 2024, by in Homelife.

I have been talking about spring over the past couple of months and telling my readers about my tulips. As I have said before, Spring is a long process here in Montana. Seems like winter drags on forever!

Well, my tulips are here and I love them! They seem to get more and more beautiful every year!

What I love about tulips is they really are the flower for “idiots” when it comes to gardening. Just plant a bulb in the fall and wait till spring and they will do all the work. I am hoping to have a full tulip garden next year.

I love how tlips just bring spring into my house. They are so simple, but so beautiful just in a simple glass jar.

The colors this year are fantastic as well! I had forgotten how I planted the yellow striped ones.

What is your favorite spring annual?

Kidzies! Review and Giveaway!

I was very pleased to work with Amanda, the owner of Kidzies! Amanda is a wonderful person and very friendly and generous. It was refreshing to talk to a business owner who made me feel like a friend, not just another business contact.

I firmly stand behind Kidzies products and I want to share them with my readers.

This is one product line I am truly super excited about!

Kidzies is a product line with little “Momma’s helpers”, that are often personalized. They are super affordable and so cute!

It all started with a foam cup insulator that Amanda named Huggerz. She had put a drink cozy on her own drink and realized her 4 year old didn’t have one for his. She started ironing on patterns onto drink cozies and Kidzies was born!

I didn’t test the Huggerz because I don’t have a little tiny one anymore, but I did test out a couple of Kidzie’s other products. The treasure bags and the Cross of love. Both, my 9 year old daughter loved.

First, I want to show you the Cross of love. It is a cross that is made out of hardboard that can be personalized. I love this product so much. It is a simple reminder to my daughter that she is loved by God. She can hang it on her wall and be reminded that she was fearfully and wonderfully made by the Father in heaven. I hope she keeps it forever as a keepsake. It would be lovely in a nursery.

Second, I tested out a Treasure Bag. These are more than a simple pencil case for school. They are so durable and would be wonderful for just about anything you can think to put in them. Treasure Bagz are made of a combination of Neoprene and polyester. Neoprene is what scuba diving suits are made of so it is super durable and even water resistant!

Kidzies has over 12 different products in thier line with several designs of each. You can find a wipe holder (Wipeaze case) to a sticker (Kling-eaze)that is removable and personalized for all your child’s things!

This is a great site to find all those little solutions for your child’s needs!

All of them would make great gifts for an expecting Momma or a child’s birthday!

Amanda, CEO of Kidzies, would love to offer my readers a chance at a $20 gift certificate for the Kidzies online store. Since everything is so affordable, you should be able to have a hard time picking!

To enter to win a $20 gift certificate, please click on “read more” to see the rafflecopter form!

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

Published on May 6, 2024, by in Recipes.

I was getting tired of eating the same old thing around here so I decided to play around in the kitchen. I came up with this recipe the other night and wanted to share it with my readers.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

You will need:

* 1 box of non-long type pasta such as farfalle

* 1 container of Philadelphia Cream cheese’s “Cooking Cream” I used Italian herbs and cheese flavor

* 1 1/4 cups shredded swiss cheese

* 1 ham steak, around 1 lb in size, cooked and cubed

* 1 lb of boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and cubed

* Panko or bread crumbs

How to:

1. Start the water to boil for the noodles, combine the ham and chicken together in a bowl. set aside.

2. When noodles are cooked al dente (al dente means “to the tooth”. It is a french term that means the pasta is almost fully cooked) and drained, add the meat.

3. Add the cooking cream and a splash of milk to the pasta/meat. Combine gently as to not break up the pasta.

4. In a baking dish, (I used a glass cake pan), spray the inside with non-stick spray. Add the mixture.

5. Top with a layer of panko/breadcrumbs and cheese.

6. Cook in a 350 degree oven for 15 minuets or until cheese is melted on top and the mixture is sizzling. When cheese is melted, turn on broil and let it get brown and crispy. Watch it closely so it doesn’t burn!

SERVE and enjoy!

You might also think about adding a veggie. I think asparagus might go lovely next time with this!
