Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

Published on May 6, 2024, by in Recipes.

I was getting tired of eating the same old thing around here so I decided to play around in the kitchen. I came up with this recipe the other night and wanted to share it with my readers.

Chicken Cordon Bleu Casserole

You will need:

* 1 box of non-long type pasta such as farfalle

* 1 container of Philadelphia Cream cheese’s “Cooking Cream” I used Italian herbs and cheese flavor

* 1 1/4 cups shredded swiss cheese

* 1 ham steak, around 1 lb in size, cooked and cubed

* 1 lb of boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cooked and cubed

* Panko or bread crumbs

How to:

1. Start the water to boil for the noodles, combine the ham and chicken together in a bowl. set aside.

2. When noodles are cooked al dente (al dente means “to the tooth”. It is a french term that means the pasta is almost fully cooked) and drained, add the meat.

3. Add the cooking cream and a splash of milk to the pasta/meat. Combine gently as to not break up the pasta.

4. In a baking dish, (I used a glass cake pan), spray the inside with non-stick spray. Add the mixture.

5. Top with a layer of panko/breadcrumbs and cheese.

6. Cook in a 350 degree oven for 15 minuets or until cheese is melted on top and the mixture is sizzling. When cheese is melted, turn on broil and let it get brown and crispy. Watch it closely so it doesn’t burn!

SERVE and enjoy!

You might also think about adding a veggie. I think asparagus might go lovely next time with this!

Miche Purses Review!

Published on May 6, 2024, by in Product Reviews.

I was so THRILLED to be given to opportunity to review Miche (said, MEE-chee) purses! I have long drooled over them and as a “bag hag” (did I make it clear I LOVE purses yet on my blog?!) who wouldn’t want one as versatile as this?

Miche is a brand that is sold by consultants and online. They are super unique! My Personal consultant for Miche has been Stephanie Nevins. She has been a complete joy to work with! Did I mention she is also very generous?

The basic idea is you buy a ‘base bag’ and add accessories and ‘shells’ to quickly change them from look to look. How easy is that?

I was given the brown Classic bag

the Amber Shell

and the basic short handles as well as a long handle to review.

Here is what it looks like all put together withe the short handles:

You can really create any look you want with these purses. They have all sizes of base bags and shells from the small to the large! They are so high quality and I love my bag! The classic bag is a great size. It holds all the essentials. I put my wallet, keys, Glitzee purse light, prescriptions, diabetic meter, makeup and cards in it. It has a couple pockets in it as well for cell phones and change.

Just taking a look at Stephanie’s Miche website, I see so many styles I like for the classic bag I was given. These are some of my personal favorites (although I love the Amber shell she sent me, It is PERFECT for spring and summer because of it’s bright color and I even painted my toes to match the color of it!)

Jayma shell:

Kandace shell:

Riley Shell:

There are 4 sizes of base bags; Petite, Classic, Demi and Prima. You choose the bag, then the shell and any accessories.

Accessories include different handles (which by the way are a snap to apply!), wallets/coin purses and Charmers. Charmers are neat little ‘purse jewelry’ that sets your purse apart from the rest!

This is an example of a Charmer. This particular Charmer is named the Gumdrop.

Now you can just have any look you want without a ton of handbags taking up space in your closet! Miche even sells organizers for their shells!

You can contact Stephanie Nevins to purchase or with questions on her email snevins61105@gmail.com or her phone number is 319.721.1741

You can also join the Miche Swap page on facebook to buy, sell and trade Miche products with others! Great way to snag a deal!

Not only was Stephanie so generous to me, she has offered my readers a chance to win a $30.00 gift certificate for her website!

Stay tuned for the “Magical Mother’s Day” giveaway hop for your chance to win!

Stella & Dot Vallen Pendant Review

Published on May 5, 2024, by in Product Reviews.

I was so THRILLED when I was given the chance to review this BEAUTIFUL piece!

Stella & Dot is a direct/social selling company that provides boutique style jewelry. Their collections are inspired by New York stylists and celebrity fashions. Stella & Dot can only be bought online or in “trunk shows” with a consultant.

My consultant (also known as a Personal Stylist!) is Katy Hauer. She is so friendly and fun to chat with and work with and she was very generous to provide me this gorgeous Vallen Pendant for review!

The Vallen Pendant is part of the new summer collection from Stella & Dot. It features hand-sculted, high polish silver plated coral branches on an 18 inch (with 3″ extender) chain.

I have worn it several times and it really does go great with any outfit. I was concerned whether it would turn my skin green because I have an allergy to nickle, but Katy Hauer assured me it would not and it didn’t! I really do love this high quality piece. I get compliments on it every time I wear it!

Not only is this piece very attractive, it comes in a very cute gift-box that is ready for giving! I loved the writing on the the box! It said “Hello Gorgeous!”

The Vallen Pendant is sold at the price of $39.95 on Katy Hauer’s website. It is worth every penny! I could not stop looking at it when I wore it. This may also seem silly, but I loved how smooth it feels as well. This really is a high-quality piece!

Katy Hauer is available to do Trunk Shows if you are in the Helena, Montana area and she also can do online trunk shows if you would like a chance to earn some awesome Stella & Dot Jewelry!

Stay tuned! You will have a chance to WIN a Vallen pendant of your own with the upcoming “Magical Mother’s Day” giveaway hop that goes LIVE on May 7th, right here on my blog. Not only will you have a chance to win this, but also a TON of other prizes from over 50 blogs!

Clipa! The purse clip that is also a bracelet!

This accessory comes in handy for a “bag hag” like myself! Its the Clipa!

I am sure you have seen handbag hooks before that you hang your purse on at the table too keep it in sight and off the floor. Clipa is different! It clips to your bag and clips anywhere!

Clipa features a non-slip inside that helps your bag stay in place.

Clipa also can be used as a bangle. I found it to be very well constructed and pretty darn cute as a bangle.

Clipa is different than other handbag hangers because it matches your purse hardware. It is available in several colors and designs. It also stays on your bag so you don’t have to search for it in your purse when you want to use it.

Just simply clip it on the table or surface and when you are ready to go, just grab your purse and it closes instantly and falls back onto your purse. What could be any easier?

I love Clipa. It makes it so easy to always keep my purse in sight. I found it very useful for bathroom stalls or dressing rooms where there isn’t a hook already available. Who wants to set their bag on the dirty public restroom floor?

The people at Clipa are super friendly and sweet! They not only sent me one to try, but one for my Mother who is getting married this summer!

Clipa can be bought on their website or you could WIN one here just like the one you see I have, the Polished Silver style!

My cat’s various sleep positions

Published on May 4, 2024, by in Homelife.

Ladies and Gentlemen, This post is a bit odd. Even I admit to this, but so is my cat, Mac’s, sleeping positions.

I wrote a post about the new bed my husband and I were getting a couple weeks ago and even since we got it, my cat thinks it belongs to him.

Not only does he think it belongs to him, but he sleeps in the oddest positions.

The funny thing about cats, is, they are so flexible. They can be very comfortable in the oddest places.

Mac will not get off OUR bed. He gets incredibly annoyed if you dare to disturb him while he is on “his” bed. He has a cat tree that he used to be fixed on and ever since this new bed came into the picture, he has not slept on what we lovingly call his “perch” in weeks.

I walked in and found him like this the other day

And today, he was propped up on his back like a fat old man. He woke up and was very irritated with me for taking his picture.

The moral of the story? Don’t get anything new in the house and claim it to be yours. If you have a cat, it most certainly is not.

Shavewell Fog Free Mirrior review and GIVEAWAY!

My husband has to shave daily for his job and I have always wanted a mirror in my shower to be able to clean my face properly. I was sick of the “raccoon eyes” and my husband has very sensitibe skin and shaving in the shower would help that.

In comes the Shavewell Company’s Fog-Free Mirror. It hangs in the shower on a hook and you can remove it for cleaning.

To make it fog-free, you simply hold it under the shower stream for a short bit and it won’t fog up!

The mirror comes with everything you need to instal it in minuets. It has the mirror and a plastic hook that you stick in your shower.

Simply remove the protective coating (which has instructions) to start using your mirror.

The only problem I had with it is the sticky stuff on the back of the hook was TOO sticky. I could not remove the tab on it to get it exposed to apply to my shower wall. It took the sticky stuff off with it! I had some metal glue though and used that to apply it. Problem solved. :)

The mirror has really come in handy and I notice my husband has less irritation on his face and it allows him to get a closer shave as well.

Another tidbit of info that I love about the Shavewell company is where their products are packaged. They are packaged in Knoxville, TN at Sunshine Industries, a long term employer of individuals with developmental disabilities, giving them self confidence and independence.

Shavewell has offered my readers a chance to win a Shavewell Fog-Free Mirror!
And on top of that, a bonus for EVERYONE (except the winner of course!) who enters, a coupon code to buy a Shavewell Mirror at a discounted price! This would make a great father’s day gift!

Enter to WIN on the rafflecopter form below! Everyone who enters (minus the winner) will get a coupon code at the end of the giveaway to use on the Shavewell Mirror!

Pambras “The Original Bra Liner” Review

Published on May 4, 2024, by in Product Reviews.

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies….

I am gonna talk about something a bit personal, but I am sure I am not alone in this: bra and breast irritation, especially in the summer!

I have very large breasts myself (not bragging, just mentioning)and I suffer year round, but especially in the warmer weather from irritation from my bra and just having large breasts in general. I get what can only be described as a heat rash in between and under my breasts. It burns and itches and it drives me up a wall. I have tried it all-the creams, the talc, the baby powder and the patting my skin dry with a cloth throughout the day just to heal or avoid the rash.

I thought I was doomed. I thought this was it. I was forever stuck with this issue.

Then, I was introduced to a lifesaver, Pambra’s Original Bra Liners.

These liners are the answer! I have been wearing one every day for about a week now and the rash I had before is now gone and its not coming back!

The Pambra’s Original Bra Liner is washable, comfortable and easy to place. Just put the top part between the breasts and tuck the rest around the bra. Here is a useful video to demonstrate.

These bra liners come in sizes SM to 2X. I wear a 2X because of my band/bra size.

I was pleasantly surprised that the liner was not noticeable when it is on. I was worried it might irritate, but I honestly did not even remember I was wearing it. When I took my bra off at night, my skin as not irritated or moist.

Pambra’s come in 3 colors; white, black and nude. They go great with under-wire bras to keep that digging in feeling at bay!

Ladies, I really recommend getting yourself some Pambra’s Original Bra Liners. They will make your summer a lot more comfortable!

You can find Pambra’s on their website and please “Like” them on Facebook or follow them on Twitter. (@Pambras3)

Praying for Change

Published on May 3, 2024, by in Christian Living.

Today is the National Day of Prayer and it got me thinking.

I need to spend even more time in prayer. Its not that I don’t make time to pray every day. I do. I just don’t pray when I should.

I think it is human nature to forget to pray when we most need to. For me personally, I often feel ashamed to ask God for things because I feel like I ask for too much already. I feel like I have no right to ask for more. I feel like I am always asking my Father in heaven for something like a begging child.

I need to remember that my Father not only gives me permission to ask, but wants to hear my prayers. He wants me to place my trust in him. He desires to build this relationship with me. How can I build a relationship if I don’t talk to Him about my problems?

Have you ever had a friend that you hid your “true” feelings from? Maybe because you are afraid they will see you differently if they knew? Maybe because you want to put a wall up and let on that everything is fine?

That is NOT the kind of relationship Our Father in heaven wants with us. There is no shame in sharing our whole selves with God. He already knows us! He already knows our fears, our anxieties and our faults. He wants to comfort us and provide answers. Its a simple step. We just need to trust Him enough to give our whole heart to him; show him our ugliness, our weakness. He is waiting to heal us. He is waiting to comfort us.

With open arms.

Weekly Featured Blogger: A Jewel In the Making!

Published on May 3, 2024, by in My Blog.

I have made some wonderful Bloggy friends and I want to feature one of them a week. This gives them a chance to be spot-lighted on my blog and gives my readers a chance to discover other blogs!

This week I am featuring, “A Jewel In the Making”

1) Why did you start blogging?
I started in 2008 as a way to have fun. Then life got in the way so I quit but in Dec 2011 I started up again researching and moving my blog to self-hosted wordpress and started posting my daily bible devotions. I wanted to use my blog to glorify God and share with others my faith, other topics that I’m passionate about and also use it as a way to supplement my family’s income with earnings from affiliates and advertizing and selling items in an eventual store front.

2) How did you come up with the name for your blog?
I am a born again Christian, saved by God’s grace. In the bible it talks about jewels especially about woman and rubies and pearls. I am not the perfect jewel because God is always working on me, becoming the woman He wants me to be worshiping Him. I wanted a name to reflect that. Hence A Jewel In The Making.

3) What is your blog about?
Right now I am only doing the daily devotions and some giveaways but very soon I want to blog about my biblical theology, homeschooling, health and diet, and becoming a Proverbs 31/Titus 2 woman.

4) What is one thing in your life you are most proud of?
For me being proud, means that I’m happy with all that I accomplished but without God I am nothing so I would just say that I’m happy about being a mother to my five kiddos. I may not be famous or money rich but I’m truly blessed with all that God has given or not given me and I wouldn’t change a thing.

5) Share a beauty tip with my readers.
Eating an all natural organic diet is truly the best thing you can do to really look beautiful. I changed my diet for internal problems and the outward changes have been wonderful too. I am not a model, not anywhere close but I truly feel beautiful when I’m eating the proper foods.

6) Tell me about your favorite food.
As mentioned above, I’m on a special diet so I can only have about 20 foods which is a really small amount compared to the variety that is out there. My favorite right now is called Chinese chicken- diced chicken mixed with honey, mustard, cinnamon, garlic powder, ancho chili pepper powder, cumin, onion powder and fresh lemon juice. Marinated for about an hour. Broiled in the oven. Served with whatever side. I also like having a “soda” every now and then, which is sparkling mineral water and Knudsen’s grape juice-since that is the only juice I can use right now-mixed and maybe ice in it.

7) What are you looking forward to?
Pregnancy. :) I love my kids and am starting to look forward to having another one when and if God decides to bless us.

8) If you could change something about yourself, what would it be?
I’m really trying to be more grace-filled toward my kiddos. I tend to be a little too harsh with them and I just feel like I’m not balancing the grace with the harshness after being so -let me just say-lazy with the discipline in the early years. So I really need to find a balance. Mothering tip: Start disciplining early and consistently.

Now go read A Jewel In the Making and “like” her on her facebook fan page! You can follow her on Twitter and add your to G+ as well! I am sure she would love it!

If you would like to be featured, please email me with the subject “weekly featured blogger” to borntimestwo@hotmail.com
