Piedmont’s Soft Peppermint Puffs Pops Recipe {Holiday Tutorial}

If you are anything like myself, you would love to get involved in making holiday candy for your loved ones, but know that it can be a daunting process. I spend an entire day with a friend every year baking up holiday candy, cookies and treats. When all is said and done, there is a great variety on each plate. This year, I vowed to myself that I would not make recipes that took all day to complete. Time seems to be running out every year as I find myself busier and busier. That is why this Oreo pop recipe is perfect! Not only can you have it made in a jiffy, but this one is so easy the kids can do it!

To make Oreo pops, you will need:

White Almond Bark

Oreo or other similar sandwich cookies

Piedmont’s Red Bird Brand Soft Peppermint Puffs

craft sticks

Peppermint Extract

1. Start by melting the almond bark in the microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring. When it is smooth and creamy, add peppermint extract to taste. A little bit goes a long way!

2. Inset the craft sticks between the two cookies and into the cream in the middle. Be gentle as to not break the cookie. Add about 20 Piedmont’s Red Bird Brand Soft Peppermint Puffs to a zipper bag and crush with a rolling pin or the handle of a knife. The kids will love this part! I use Piedmont’s Red Bird Brand Soft Peppermint Puffs because I think they have the best flavoring and they are easier to crush for this project than a candy cane. Piedmont’s Red Bird Brand Soft Peppermint Puffs are also great for eating alone.

3. Gently coat all sides of the ‘pop’ with almond bark. Place on a cookie sheet with wax paper.

4. Before they get hard, make sure to take some Piedmont’s Red Bird Brand Soft Peppermint Puffs that you crushed up and sprinkle them on top. You could get colorful and try using the Piedmont Red Bird Brand Soft Mixed Fruit Puffs as well!

Allow to harden. This can bee sped up by placing in the freezer, although this process doesn’t take long at all. Enjoy!
