Even if you are not hosting any guests this holiday season and are going to someone else’s home, wouldn’t it be nice to come home after a day on the road to a nice, inviting home?
While very few enjoy holiday cleaning, there is some shortcut ways you can have a clean home in time for guests so you have more time to spend with them and less time devoted to getting ready for them!
1. Start your clean up by getting linens, towels and sheets clean. I suggest using Tide Pods to get the job done because they are quick, pre-measured and non-messy. They are good on most fabrics and work in all types of washers. They even dissolve in hot or cold water.
2. Clear all the clutter. The easiest way I find to do this is to grab an empty laundry basket and just start putting stuff in it that doesn’t belong where it is. Put it away later, but for now, its out of sight, out of mind.
3. Now that you have clutter cleared away, you can dust more easily. I suggest using Swiffer 360 dusters because they lock in the dust instead of putting it in the air. They reach gently around all your breakables and in tight spots. They are great for clearing allergens out of the room for your allergy sensitive guests.
4. Normally, I would suggest taking pots and pans that you need cleaned out of your kitchen and stuffing them in your oven if you will not be using it until after your guests leave. Because of the constant use of the oven during the holidays, this will probably not work and I bet you don’t have time to do an overnight soak. I suggest using the new Dawn Power Clean formula. You can get overnight soaking power in just 5 minuets. This should really speed up the holiday after-meal clean up! Time is everything when trying to do holiday cleaning.
5. Do a quick sweep of the bathroom. Put clean towels up and do a quick wipe down. If you won’t be having overnight guests, store clutter in the shower for now.
6. Run a vacuum over the floor and fill the air with an inviting fragrance from the Febreze line of products. Febreze is much more than fabric refreshers now. You will find candles, spray and oil air fresheners and even car vent air fresheners. There are a variety of seasonal scents out now, too, to bring t warmth of the season inside!
I hope these quick tips help you get prepared for your holiday celebration and helped you do some holiday cleaning!

Great tips! Sometimes my house gets a bit to crazy for even this shortcut cleaning method, but when in a pinch this is perfect! I’d say I need a bigger house so there is a place for everything, but then I’d probably just collect even more clutter and have more to clean up, lol.

I am loyal to Dawn myself. Ever since we saved a cat from a bucket of oil I have been sold on it. We ran out of Dawn and had to use and alternative that didn’t work.. I thought - if this isn’t working on the oil like Dawn does, then is it really working on my dishes?

I used to not care what dish soap I used until I got a coupon one time for dawn. I got the kind with Olay in it for soft hands. I am sold now!
These are great tips. Thank you for sharing.
