Rebound Drug-Free Pain Relief Device {Review + Giveaway}

I was sent a Rebound TENS Device for the sole purpose of doing a review. I was not compensated monetarily for this post. All opinions expressed are my own.

With diabetes and fibromyalgia, I know a bit about chronic pain. I have diabetic neuropathy in my hands, arms, legs and feet. The pain is the kind that can be really debilitating and it comes on out of nowhere, leaving me not only interrupted in my work and play, but left reeling.

Unfortunately for me, I am allergic to NSAIDS (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs like Ibuprofen). This presents a problem because these medications are better for solving the pain of inflammation that an analgesic would be. I am also one of those people that hate to take prescription medications. I don’t like the idea that they are addictive and I don’t like the way they make me feel.

This leaves me with very few options for pain relief. Of course, I use heat packs, warm showers and soaks in the tub, but that is not always convenient and honestly, is only effective up to a certain point.

The Rebound TENS Device

I was really excited to hear that there was another way. It is the Rebound TENS Device. The Rebound TENS Device is a non-prescription pain relief device that uses electro-therapy to help alleviate pain. “TENS” stands for Trans-cutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator. The way it works is with a tingling sensation that the device emits via a small electric pulse to alleviate pain symptoms.

The Rebound TENS device is great because it can be worn for as short as 10-15 minutes at a time or all day. It allows you to not have to reach for pain medication and is available with out a prescription.

While the Rebound TENS device will not cure your chronic pain issue, it is a big step in controlling the symptoms of it.

My personal experience with the Rebound TENS device was amazing! I first used it for pain I was experiencing in my knee. This was due to over-use of it on a particular day that aggravated my nueropathy and made my knee feel like it was buckling. I applied the Rebound TENS Device as illustrated in the manual that comes with it. To be completely honest, I was a skeptic and as soon as I started to find relief almost right away, I swear by this device now.

Since then, I have used it for pain in my hips, wrists and even menstrual pain in my lower back. It has worked for all three locations like a charm. The sensation is kind of strange at first, but you find it soothing and it really is amazing how well it helps alleviate pain of all kinds-sharp, dull, stabbing, you name it. There is a couple places you cannot use the device due to it being electrical impulses. You cannot use it anywhere on the Face, Neck, Head, Groin or anywhere across the chest. If you are hoping this will help with pain there, it unfortunately cannot be used in those areas.

The Rebound TENS device retails for $64.99. Refill pads are $19.99. This is well worth the investment. I was spending at least $20 a month on analgesic over the counter pain relief medication and at least another $20 a month on creams, rubs and heat packs. That doesn’t even count the cost of Rx medications I sometimes used. Not only is this cheaper than all of that, it can be used as long as I want, it is small and can be carried with me on the go and it can be used over and over. 1. I am in the testing phase now to find out between Fibro and Lupus. I have not tried much because I am still waiting for a diagnosis.

  2. I have chronic lower and middle back pain, my chiropractor uses a device similar to this to help relax my muscles before my adjustments so this would be awesome to have at home! It really does help me feel better!

  3. My husband has back problems - he has arthritis, narrowing of the spine, bulging discs - among other problems. His doctor actually ordered a tens unit for him but our insurance wouldn’t cover it. His tried everything we can think of to help with little success.

Thanks for commenting Deanna. My husband also has bad back problems. I feel for him so much. Thanks for entering!

This would be for my daughter who suffers from migraines often.

    • I wouldn’t recommend this for migraine pain simply because of the fact that it is electrical impulses. The instruction book actually says to never use it across the chest, on the groin area or on the neck or head at all. However, it can be used for shoulder pain that is often associated with tension migraine headaches.

  5. I suffer from lower back pain and my son’s knees constantly give him pain. Neither of us like to take prescription drugs so this would be a better alternative. Thanks for the chance to win.

I have been experiencing chronic pain in my lower back, knees, and neck that are caused from an accident in 2004. I also experience neuropathy from being diabetic. Physical therapists have used devices similar to this and I have found them to be profoundly successful in relieving symptoms. I have often said that I wished that device for home use existed and I am happy to have stumbled upon this site!

    • This was my first experience with a TENS Device and I was equally impressed. Thanks for checking out my site and I hope you come back and read more :) Good luck!

  7. I have extreme back, hip, neck and knee pain, this would be so nice to try out.

Gosh what a good question… I have Multiple Sclerosis. To complicate matters in 2010 I had both a hip and shoulder replacement. While I get around fine most days I have severe muscle spasms and difficulty walking. I’ve chosen not to take my disability until it’s absolutely necessary and I would really try just about anything that gives me enough relief to get out of the house and go to work! Sadly disability just can’t provide my children with the life they deserve. I had tried very nearly everything and I do have a Morphine pump on my spine that helps a lot. I know a TENS isn’t going to be some miracle wonder drug for my condition… but a few minutes of relief of just… LESS. Thank you so much for holding this giveaway and thanks to Rebound for facilitating it. I hope whoever is entering this contest… feels better soon! <3

  13. Wow, I am so happy for you finding such amazing relief for your pain. I have not been as successful. I too have fibro, arthritis, bursitis in my hips, and had a roof collapse years ago and had a fusion in my neck and have had life long pain associated in my back as well. I am so tired of using both OTC and RX medications. Honestly nothing works after so many years so I’ve discontinued most of them. I want to be completely medication free asap. I would love to try this rebound tens unit. Fingers Crossed. Thanks Much!

  14. I have knee issues that I have tried over the counter remedies on and nothing had worked I would love to try this.
