I was sent a variety of Brandless products for this post as it is a partnership between myself, Moms Meet and Brandless. All opinions are my own.
One of my favorite things to do in the Spring and Summer is go hiking. Despite the fact that there are ticks, (I have a real issue with those buggers!) I hit the trail as often as possible when the snow disappears. I am lucky enough to live in an area that has an abundance of hiking areas and natural reserves. Whether we go on a short hike or a long one, I always bring fuel for journey. Usually this comes in the form of trail mix, often bought from a store, but I was really grateful to get the opportunity to work with Brandless and some of the stuff in the Brandless store inspired me to make my own savory snack mix to take on our next trek.
About Brandless
If you aren’t familiar with Brandless, let me tell you a few things that are going to keep me coming back. Brandless offers an online store that allows you to skip out of the ‘BrandTax™‘ of some of your normal household items and groceries. Brand Tax is simply the extra money you pay for a brand name because you think more money means that it’s better quality. Brandless can save you up to 40% on this BrandTax™. (Can I also just say that they are absolutely right? The food and household products from Brandless that I tried were absolutely on par with and in some cases better than the brands I buy!)
The best perk I think about Brandless is their pricing. EVERYTHING on the site is $3. That’s right, just $3. It makes it super simple to shop and for items like the Organic Cheese Duck Crackers (non-GMO and no artificial flavors) I used in the recipe, I think that’s an incredible value. Additionally, for $24 a year (for my readers! a special offer of 33% off the B.More membership!), you can get free shipping on all of your orders!
Brandless offers not just delicious grocery items, but also household items like Green Tea and Aloe Body Wash and Eucalyptus and Lavender Gel Hand Soap. I tried both and they were very high quality and amazing smelling, too!
Savory Snack Mix Recipe
This savory snack mix is perfect for the trail and it makes a lot to share. I used two products from Brandless to make it.
Ingredients:
1 Box of Organic Cheese Duck Crackers from Brandless
1 Bag of Original Beef Jerky (grass fed!) from Brandless
1 1/2 Cups Plantain Chips, plain (I buy these in bulk)
1 1/2 Cup of Peanuts, unsalted
3 Cups of Pretzel Sticks
Directions:
This is about as simple as it gets, folks; Just add ingredients to a large bowl and gently mix with hands until all ingredients are evenly distributed. Store in a glass container or take in a reusable gallon zip bag.
