Thermal-Aid Zoo

Most children have growing pains or even just an illness here and there. (I haven’t met a child yet that doesn’t!). Along the same lines, kids like stuffed animals. Thermal-Aid Zoo is the perfect combination of gentle pain relief and a cuddly buddy.

Thermal-Aid Zoo is a cuddly stuffed animal that mom or dad can pop in the microwave to warm up and the child can be comforted by the warmness and softness of their animal.

I was sent a JoJo Monkey Thermal-Aid Zoo animal to try out and write a review on.

First, let me say that the animal is very soft. It has a terry cloth body and cleans easily. Just wipe it with a damp cloth. It feels very similar to baby wash cloths.

The Thermal-Aid Zoo animal holds it’s heat well. I noticed it held it’s heat a lot longer than the rice sock I have for heat therapy. The reason being is it is filled with a natural specially engineered corn that holds heat well and doesn’t pop like popcorn in the microwave. Nothing chemical or dangerous! I have not used it for cold therapy but you have the option of sticking it in the freezer to use as you would an ice pack. I found that when I heated it up, it was not too hot to the touch that it would burn of be uncomfortable and the heat stuck around for about an hour. My rice sock gets cold fairly quick and certinally does not last that long.

The only con about this product is when heated up, it smells (obviously) kind of like popcorn. If you don’t like that scent, you may not like this.

However, I love that these are cuddly. When a child (or adult for that matter-I used it for a pain I had, I admit!) is not feeling well, they just want to be comforted by a favorite stuffed critter. The Thermal Aid Zoo animal is so perfect fro this. My daughter would actually request that it was heated up just for bedtime even when she was not feeling ill. It is a great warm buddy to sleep with on a cold winter night!

Thermal-Aid Zoo has five different animals to choose from including JoJo the Monkey, Tiny the Elephant, Baxter the Rabbit, Ollie the Koala and Happy the Hippo. They retail for $19.95. I think these would make a great gift for any child or even adult!

    I’d pick Tiny!
By removing the germ tip cap from each kernal of corn, they can hold temperatures for longer periods of time.

  6. I would choose Baxter the bunny!

  7. I learned that they can be either a hot or cold pack!
