As a former full time vegetarian, I learned to expand my pallet when it comes to food and different tastes. Thats why I was excited when I was chosen to review for White Mountain Foods.

White Mountian Foods is a company that makes meatless food and yogurt products. I was sent a sample box of some of each of their products.

• Sweet Potato Pecan Tamales
• Bulgarian Yogurt
• No Meata Fajita filler
• No egg tofu salad
• Cottage Tofu salad

I will be honest I was worried my pallet had adjusted to eating meat too much to enjoy these products, but I did actually find that I liked a couple of them pretty well.

I loved the No-Meata Fajita filler. It was convenient and the texture and taste were very close to meat and I could not tell much of a difference. I just heated it up and put it on a tortilla and added some black beans. It was pretty darn good

I also liked the Sweet Potato Pecan Tamales. This was really odd for me to like considering i don’t like pecans and I don’t like sweet potatoes. The flavor and texture were so good they were almost like a desert. I can see adding some whipped topping!

To be honest, I was not a fan of the rest of the samples. The Bulgarian yogurt just tasted “off” to me and maybe a bit sour even when I tried to mix it with fresh fruit.I may try it in cooking.

I honestly couldn’t even try the other two. My adventurous husband did and he was not a fan ether. I generally like tofu, but in this case, tofu is best left as tofu and not a dairy substitute.

Over all, I like what White Mountain stands for. They use high quality ingredients with less sodium. Going green and eating a vegan or vegetarian meal once in a while is good for you and good for the Earth.
