As a diabetic, I often have been told how important caring for feet is. With Diabetes, it is easy to get a foot infection going on because the illness itself causes loss of sensation, tingling and numbness in the feet and in turn, less blood supply heading to that area and slower healing times. What may be a simple cut on my toe, could turn into a huge infection in no time.
I try to care for my feet not only because of my diabetes, but also because I have this personal pet peeve of having dry feet. It is like nails on a chalk board to me. I tried two of the Phase + products; Exfoliating Wash (for all over body, but I tend to have trouble areas on my feet) and Foot Therapy cream.
The Phase + Exfoliating Wash is for cleaning the whole body and is specially formulated for diabetics so they get the dual action benefit of it. It not only cleans, but moisturizes as well. I used it on my feet. It contains grape seed extract for prevention of skin damage, petrolatum for sealing in moisture as well as “Buffing beads” to gently wash away dry skin and callouses.
Here is a shot of my foot before using the Phase + Exfoliating Wash and Cream And again, after, below that.
Pros:
The cream is very thick and I really like that. I am not much of a lotion type person and find that creams work well and I love extra thick creams. This cream would probably be great to have around in the summer when my feet are at their driest. The Phase + Exfoliating wash seemed to clean well and left my skin soft.
Cons:
Both the Phase + Cream and Phase + Exfoliating Wash had a medicine like smell that I didn’t care for. I did not get to try the cream or wash as long as I would have liked due to timing of needing to post this review. The Phase + Exfoliating wash didn’t exfoliate at all for me, nor did I feel any “Buffing beads” and it didn’t later very well, either.
Verdict:
Get the Phase + Cream, but skip the Phase + Exfoliating wash.
To purchase:
Visit the website for Phase + products and see the Walgreen’s store locator to see if it is sold in your local store. The website also has a bunch of healthy diabetic skin care tips that I found useful. Make sure to also get the coupon for $2.00 off before you go make a purchase for yourself.
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
