With all of the information out there these days about how to be healthy, it is sure easy to get overwhelmed! You start to wonder how you will ever do them all and if you will be able to keep up. The truth is, staying healthy is relatively easy and something most people can fit into their busy lives with no issues. Take charge of your health and do these 6 easy things for your health everyday!
6 Easy Things to Do Every day for Your Health
Get enough sleep- I don’t mean to sound like a broken record (you have undoubtedly heard this one before), but sleep is so important for our health. Our bodies can’t function properly when they are run down. It effects everything you do from driving, to your moods and even your hormones. Try to shoot for at least 7 hours of sleep every night. If you have a hard time winding down to do so, set an alarm on your phone to tell you to go to bed.
Get moving at least once a day- Exercise is so vital to our bodies. You don’t have to even do anything rigorous. A simple walk or even cleaning the house can do it for you. Just make sure you get moving at least once a day. I like to do yoga in the mornings and will often sleep in my Yoga gear so I can get up and do it right away. I often can be found wearing comfortable plus size lounge wear as well, too, since I work from home, that makes it easy to move around in.
Laugh often- Laughter is the best medicine they say and I find that to be true. If I make sure to laugh good and laugh often, I find my blues are chased away. If you are having a hard time finding joy, try making others laugh. It feels just as good to cheer others up most of the time and in turn, it might be contagious.
Connect with Nature- Get out and get some sun. This is especially important in the winter months when we tend to stay inside a lot. Even if there isn’t much for sunshine out (I live in the Pacific Northwest, I get it!) Try to head outside for a simple walk daily if you can, even if it’s just around the block. When I have more time, I like to check out the local parks in the area. They are often so beautiful in the winter and not crowded. My favorite thing to do is wear some great plus size layering pieces and go for a walk at the local nature area that’s open all year. It’s not crowded like it is in the summer and there is a certain beauty there in the winter, too.
Drink more water- You probably already know your body is 3/4 water. It needs you to give it enough to keep running smoothly. We drink so many beverages that have high sugar content and caffeine these days that we often deprive our bodies of the good stuff; good old H2O. If you have a hard time drinking water, add lemon juice, infused berries or cucumbers and make it interesting, but make sure you get water every day.
Put Down Your Phone- I am super guilty of practically living on my phone. This is bad for my heath for a few reasons. I am neglecting relationships around me by not giving others my attention. Being glued to my phone also can make it hard to fall asleep at night as well because of the light emitted from it. Try to shut down the phone or stay hands off of it for at least an hour before you go to bed.
